Owner's Voice Vol.13 Residence of Mr. I

LDK with a beloved kitchen, chosen based on the concept of Feng Shui.

Soft light pours in from the large, wall-to-wall windows of Mr. I's residence.
The white-based LDK is a stylish space with a sense of dignity and the sparkle of stainless steel and crystal.
We asked Mr. I about his thoughts on creating the space, and how he came across Toyo Kitchen Style's high-spec model "iNO" in his search for "golden energy.

LDK with a beloved kitchen, chosen based on the concept of Feng Shui.

The "iNO I-LAND" kitchen, where two people can work facing each other, is ideal for my family.

We moved here last September from a nearby apartment.
At that time, we did a skeleton renovation and completely changed the location and size of the corridors and rooms," says Mr. I. "Before the renovation, the kitchen was freestanding and separated from the living room.

Before the remodeling, the kitchen was separated from the living room and was freestanding, but the owner wanted to combine it with the living room and dining room, so the kitchen was made into a single LDK. He also expanded the area of the space.

The kitchen was open and easy to use, allowing me to cook while conversing with my family, so I wanted the same style for this house," says the owner.
I wanted a kitchen that was unique to our home, so I reviewed the areas that I felt were difficult to use in the past.

What we wanted to improve was to make it easier for multiple people to work together.
My husband also cooks, so I wanted us to be able to work together, facing each other if possible.
In that respect, iNO I-LAND is very useful. It has a PARALLELO Sink sink and cooktop in one unit, and the cutting board in the sink can be slid out of the way, so I can smoothly work together with my husband standing in the dining room washing vegetables and myself standing in the kitchen cutting them up and putting them in the pots.

Looking for a kitchen with "gold" energy

When considering the interior design of the LDK, Mr. I was particular about the colors and materials.
This is because Mr. I is a Feng Shui master.
According to the Five Elements philosophy, which is the basic concept of Feng Shui, the LDK is a place where the energy of "gold" is strong, so materials and colors suitable for it are important.
The energy of gold is defined as metal or mineral in terms of material, and white or yellow in terms of color.
It also goes well with shiny things and things that flow, so from the beginning, I wanted to make the LDK white and place a stainless steel kitchen in it," he said.

So he searched the Internet for kitchens using words such as "stainless steel" and "sparkling," and found Toyo Kitchen Style.
The moment I saw the Toyo Kitchen Style kitchen on the website, I knew it was the one," he says with a laugh! I was convinced it was the one!

She immediately visited the Tokyo showroom in Minami-Aoyama and consulted with a stylist, who recommended the iNO I-LAND splash silver kitchen.

The design is lovely, and the splash silver surface material, which is reminiscent of a flowing waterfall, goes well with the energy of gold. The design is beautiful, and the splash silver surface material, which is reminiscent of a flowing waterfall, goes well with the energy of gold.
Later that day, I visited the showroom again with the designer to place an official order. Since we had a clear idea of what we wanted, the selection process was quick.

On the wall, a storage space made of the same material as the kitchen was installed.
With enough storage space for all the important utensils, the kitchen is always kept neat and tidy.

The functional sink and large storage space make it easy to work without moving," says Mr. I. "The stove has a folding stove cover that I found on an e-commerce site.

A sophisticated space completed by choosing the interior to match the kitchen.

It is no exaggeration to say that the construction of Mr. I's new house began with the selection of a kitchen.
After finding her ideal kitchen, she later purchased lighting, rugs, and sofas from Toyo Kitchen Style.
I love the 'Klunker Triple Ring' above the kitchen because of the beautiful sparkling cut glass.
The Moy rug in the dining room was also a love at first sight decision.
It has a cloud pattern, so my husband says, 'It's like heaven on earth when I'm on it.
(Laughs.) I also chose a dark gray color for the "Rashena" sofa on the windowsill to balance the colors in the room.
I always sit here and relax in the evening.

Looking again at the kitchen from the living room side, the metallic texture blends harmoniously with the white space, creating a sophisticated impression.
At first, I was thinking of putting a glass panel under Range Hood so that the smoke from cooking wouldn't come into the dining room. But the stylist at Toyo Kitchen Style said, 'That's not necessary,' so I decided against it.
It was a good decision not to. If I had added glass panels, I think it would have created a sense of discomfort in the continuous space.
Toyo Kitchen Style always gives me clear answers to my questions, so I am grateful that I was able to move forward without hesitation.

It's like the scales of a dragon." Love at first sight for the shimmering tiles, too.

One last thing.
In addition to the LDK, Toyo Kitchen Style products are also used in the I residence.
The product is the Venetian mosaic "Citis" tile.
The reason for choosing "Citis" was also unique to Mr. I. "Originally, it was recommended by a stylist in the showroom," Mr. I said.

The stylist at the showroom recommended it to me, but when I saw the actual product, it was really beautiful," she said.
I especially liked the rainbow hues of the 'Daisy' tile, which looks like dragon scales.

Feeling the energy of a dynamic dragon in the "Citise," which changes its expression depending on the angle you look at it, Ms. I decided to use "Daisy" on the walls of the kitchen and bathroom.
At first, I was going to use it as an accent, but I liked it so much that I wanted to use it over a larger area, so I bought more.
I had them put it on the side wall of the mirror, part of the wall in the hallway, and even the wall in the bathroom," he says.

The mosaic tiles that shimmer as if connected to the golden energy of the LDK foreshadow the healthy happiness of the family in the future.
