Owner's Voice Vol.22 Tanaka Residence

A living space filled with "love" that was born from a love of quilts.

This time we visited the residence of Mr. Tanaka, who lives in a cultural city in Kansai, rich in nature.
This summer, they rebuilt their long-standing two-family house and completed their modern residence.
We covered the couple's home design, which started with the "quilt kitchen" on the second floor with a great view of the city.

A living space filled with "love" that was born from a love of quilts.

I saw a "quilt kitchen" on TV and became obsessed with it.

The Tanaka residence stands on a hill with an open southern exposure.
The sunlight streaming in from the upper floor windows leads you up the stairs to the spacious LDK, a stylish space with furniture and accessories coordinated by Toyo Kitchen Style.
It is a stylish space where everything from furniture to accessories is coordinated with Toyo Kitchen Style products.
The most eye-catching item is the quilt-patterned "iNO" from Zero flow kitchen.
The stainless steel quilt on the back storage door adds depth to the space, giving it a dramatic impression.

When we rebuilt our house in the future, it was my earnest wish to have a quilted kitchen," says the wife.

About five years ago, when she had no plans to rebuild, she happened to watch a TV program about Toyo Kitchen Style, and fell in love with the "iNO Quilt" that was introduced in the program.
He said, "My favorite Chanel matelassé shines brightly in the kitchen! I thought, "My favorite Chanel matelassé is shining brightly in the kitchen!
I was surprised that there was such a beautiful kitchen in the world.

Since then, she says she has always envisioned her future home with "iNO Quilt" in her mind.

Attended the first showroom experience and fell in love with Zero flow as well!

It was last year when she and her husband visited Toyo Kitchen Style's Osaka showroom for the first time after they decided to rebuild.
The "iNO Quilt" that we saw for the first time in the showroom did not disappoint our expectations.
I was impressed not only by the design but also by the high functionality of the actual product.
I participated in a hands-on experience, and the stylist in the showroom skillfully prepared a delicious bruschetta dish using the iNO Quilt.
At that hands-on experience, her husband was also impressed with the iNO.
As the catchphrase "Zero flow kitchen" suggests, washing up, cooking, and cleaning up can all be done with very little movement.
Moreover, it is luxurious and stylish.
I thought this was something you couldn't find anywhere else," says the husband.

The couple liked the design philosophy of Toyo Kitchen Style so much that they decided to unify not only the kitchen but also the storage space behind it with a quilt pattern, and to decorate the walls with Venetian mosaic tiles from Citis, which emit a rainbow of colors.
According to the husband, "The stylist at the showroom made a lot of suggestions about products and how to coordinate them based on our tastes, and we ended up buying almost all of them.
The wife laughs, "All of the recommendations were so wonderful that we were completely on a "My Home High" at the time.

Only the worktop is selected to be ICE.

The furniture-like design of AIR FLOW is attractive. Add lighting to further enhance the interior design.

If you want to go all out, unify the TV board and vanity with a quilt pattern!

The stainless steel quilt that the couple fell in love with is actually used in more than just the kitchen.
The husband says, "As soon as I fell in love with the Toyo kitchen style, I wanted to use the quilt pattern to align the space, so I had a TV board made for the living room as well.
The finished TV board was originally a custom-made piece made from a unit used in the bathroom.
The legs AIR FLOW were shortened and the width and depth were customized.

In the living room, there is also a "Tsudoi" sofa and a rug from Moi, which were purchased after the couple started living in their new house.
At first, we were going to use a sofa we had, but the one we had been using was an L-shaped sofa over 3 meters long, and it didn't fit well in the living room of our new house.
So I talked to the stylist at the showroom, and she recommended this sofa.
When we tried it on, it fit perfectly in the space and is very comfortable, so we like it.
The stylist also suggested the Moi rug to go with TSUDOI Sofa.
The wife says, "At first, I thought a red rug in a different color would be fine, but the stylist said, 'No, this one definitely goes with the room.
When I put it down, I was convinced! I was convinced," she laughs.

The powder room near the LDK also uses a quilt pattern on the vanity and the same Venetian mosaic tile on the wall as in the kitchen. The walls are covered with the same Venetian mosaic tile as the kitchen.

Right: The first floor powder room is also decorated with Venetian mosaic tiles and your Kartell chair "LA MARIE".

New habits born from a new kitchen

The wife likes to coordinate her favorite accessories in her space, and has placed items found at Toyo Kitchen Style here and there throughout the house, including kitchen appliances and utensils.
One such item is the stylish wall-mounted gas stove "FLRAME," which was created based on the concept of "decorating flames.
This art-like stove is also the husband's favorite, and he keeps it lit even during the hottest season to watch the flickering flames.

According to the wife, "I never thought that our relationship with Toyo Kitchen Style, which started with the 'iNO Quilt,' would go so deep.
Thanks to this, I am very satisfied with the space, which makes me feel beautiful in any part of the room, day or night.
My husband seems to feel the same way, and since the house was renovated, in addition to doing the usual cooking, he also tidies up the room (laughs).
(Laughs.) I also clean up after using the kitchen.

In addition to a heightened awareness of their living space, the new residents have also developed a new habit of having breakfast on the balcony every day.
The kitchen used to be on the wall, a little bit away from the window, so I never went out on the balcony," he says.
But now that we have placed the heating equipment near the window, it is easier to eat and drink on the balcony, and I feel like my life has expanded," says the owner.

The house, which was created with the utmost care and attention to detail, seems to be a perfect stage for savoring everyday life and enjoying life.
